Hey! I’m Farouq, founder of Directhub, and I will be your instructor/tutor through your whole FE exam preparation journey!

As a trained Civil Engineer with experience in Land Development and Pavement Design, I chose to embark on this FE exam preparation path after a low point in my life. This experience forced me to rethink what I needed to do to maintain my professional integrity while supporting my loved ones. I have been helping students pass the FE exam for over 5 years.

While working as a Civil Engineer, I had the opportunity to teach locally in Oklahoma City, especially at OSU-OKC. This kept me motivated because I loved sparking curiosity in all my students when it came to everything Civil Engineering. My favorite classes to teach were anything Structural (Physics, Statics, Mechanics of Materials) and Water Resources (the fun stuff 😁)!

During this time, I decided to try out personalized tutoring and online FE exam preparation while working for different companies like Chegg, Varsity Tutors, Wyzant, and Wizeprep. This is when I truly learned the art of teaching. Even though the passion was there, I still had a lot to learn about how to effectively engage students, encourage them to think deeply about concepts, ask the right questions, and stay motivated—even when things got tough. It also allowed me to create a personalized experience for many of my students, because I know that every student needs not only knowledge but also support. They need to feel like they can count on me for help or that tiny bit of motivation to keep going.

Things took a turn when I felt the need to create my own path, driven by the frustration I experienced while working with many tutoring and higher education service providers. After collaborating with several eLearning companies, I realized most were only interested in making a quick profit. This clashed with my ethical standards as a tutor. It also frustrated me because I couldn’t fully address the unique learning needs of each student. I will never treat my students as just another number. My main goal is to unlock every student’s potential by helping them see just how much more they can achieve than they ever imagined—and this is how Directhub was born.
