Free FE exam and PE exam Google Extensions
Google chrome extensions are becoming more and more popular in helping people efficiently get things done without relying on desktop applications. With just a few clicks on the google chrome browser, you can conveniently get things done faster by using a lot of these FREE extensions!
There is almost an extension for anything nowadays. But for our purpose, what are some Google Chrome extensions that will absolutely enhance your FE exam or PE exam preparation? Are there extensions that will help you track your progress, keep you motivated, and help you maintain your focus? How about an extension that will increase your “active learning” rather than just going through the boring “passive” state of learning?
Luckily, there are some extensions created specifically for anyone studying for their FE exam, PE exam or for anything they are trying to learn. Let’s look at 4 FREE extensions, that will definitely make your studying that much better.
StayFocusd
You’re likely studying using a computer or laptop. Do you find yourself getting easily distracted by going on certain websites? Is it YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and so on? The worst thing about losing focus is the time it takes to re-establish your focus and remember where the heck you left off. Ultimately, distractions briefly disconnect your state of flow, something we want to avoid as much as possible.
StayFocusd might help you do this. This is a website blocker that allows you to create a list of websites you don’t want to go to during study time and define how long you’ll want to avoid said websites. You can block entire sites or just specific subdomains or pages.
Focus To-Do: Pomodoro Timer & To Do List
I have written about the famous Pomodoro study technique in this blog post. This technique is scientifically proven to motivate you to stay focused and get things done!
The Focus To-Do extension will handle all of the task scheduling and assignment for you.It brings the Pomodoro Technique and Study Task for the day into one place. Set your study task, start your focus timer and focus on studying, take a break, and track your progress as you continue to put in that focused study time.
This extension is awesome. It will certainly help reduce procrastination and anxiety. The lifetime paid version is also extremely affordable.
Zorbi – Flashcards from PDFs and Notion
This digital flashcard creator allows you to create cards from any piece of text, image, or screenshot on the web with just a couple of shortcuts. I like how you can easily add images and customize the text in any way you can think of.
Based on your accuracy and response time, Zorbi creates predictions on how well you know the topic and how long it will take you to forget it. This way, you’ll know where your weaknesses are and what to improve on when covering those FE exam or PE exam sections.
Hypothesis – Web & PDF Annotation
I am biased on this one since this is the note taking application my students use inside the DirectHUB course. It is automatically integrated into the course, giving students the ability to annotate and summarize the lesson notes provided.
Hypothesis is easy to use when compared to other note taking extensions. Make sure you sign up and create an account first. Then create a new “private group” for each FE exam or PE exam section. From there, you can begin annotating and taking notes on any website or PDF. At the end of each section, you should have developed your own notes and annotations that you can use as a means to review and recall what you learned.
Have you ever used any of these extensions? What extensions are you using to help you stay focused, stay on track, and learn better as you’re preparing for your FE exam? Let me know in the comments below!
